Agrotising Launches Newest Website Design

Custom WordPress Website by Agrotising - DrWaltz.comI just finished custom designing another WordPress website. This one was created for Dr. Cathy Waltz, a Psychotherapist located in Fort Lauderdale who also conducts Continuing Education Workshops. Previously to this redesign I had setup her e-commerce website which allows for attendees to her workshops to sign-up and make payments.

The new WordPress website features live Twitter feeds and seamless links to Dr Waltz’s e-commerce site by CoreCommerce. I also imported her blog postings and comments from her old blog on WordPress.com.

Thanks to Dr. Cathy Waltz, Ph.D., LCSW for choosing Agrotising as her Web and Graphic Design firm.

Data Driven Social Media Marketing Webinar

argyle-webinar-data-driven-social-media-managementI attended a very informative webinar recently that I wanted to share. It was presented by Eric Boggs of Argyle Social, a Social Media Marketing Dashboard that combines social publishing, customer engagement, and social analytics into one platform. Joining Eric was Jason Falls of Social Media Examiner. On the website, Jason is described as “a leading educator, public speaker and thinker in the world of digital marketing and social media”.

The webinar was a mix of facts and trends uncovered by data collected and aggregated by Argyle over a period from December 2010 through May 2011. The insight that these two professionals brought to the conversation was very informative. I enjoyed their observations, advice and down to earth approach in harnessing the power of social media marketing and applying trends uncovered in a “makes sense” approach. The webinar is now available for all to watch. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Google +1 Reporting with Webmaster Tools

Google is diving into the social networking initiative with the Google+ Project. Google has made it possible to add a +1 button to websites that have been verified through the Google Webmaster Tools. Google’s efforts are considered direct competition with Facebook’s Like button, but with better analytic tools for social media tracking.

I did some quick research and located a nice video that Google put out about the +1 button. Check it out:

Responsive Web Design

I have been learning about Responsive Web Design. As defined by in an article posted on Smashing Magzine:

“Responsive Web design is the approach that suggests that design and development should respond to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation.”

With the rapid increase of mobile device users the need to design for more than one environment is apparent. Designing for the Web has never been easy, first it was the limitations that print designers like myself found hard to accept when designing for the Internet. Next, and still today, the way different browsers display the same website differently. Now add to that the fact that more and more viewers are visiting websites with tablets and smart phones (which have about as many variations as the web browsers when it comes to displaying differently) and it becomes clear that the challenges of being a responsible web designer are complex.

Responsive Web DesignBut knowledge is power and education is the first step to creating better websites for this ever-changing industry. There is a buzz about Responsive Web Design in our community and I for one will be learning more and moving forward with this new train of thought for my designs.

For more information on Responsive Web Design here are a few links that I found interesting:

New Presentation Designed for State Life & Health Agency

Recently I posted on a new way to create presentations. One that adds dimensional motion and smooth animation and is relatively easy to use. I recently was contracted by a fellow BNI member to create a speaker presentation for my networking group.

This just goes to prove that Life and Term insurance CAN BE entertaining while passing a ton of information to the audience.

Hope you get a chance to view it!

Note: To view, start by clicking on the large arrow. Next, click on word MORE in the lower right corner for viewing options. Selecting AUTOPLAY will run the Flash presentation as a movie, with 4 second intervals.

Winning in the New ‘Marketing Democracy’

I just read an insightful article on marketing. With so many options today it is refreshing to be reminded of sound principles of marketing.

With the right strategies, however, Suther said companies can successfully navigate this tumultuous world to reach their target customers. He cited a few of the most well-known strategies. For one, they should personalize their marketing to consumers instead of blasting them with broadly targeted ads.

I hope you will take a moment to read it, good stuff. Click on the link below to reach the article.
